Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the official release, "A strange encounter pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar tests and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Material
Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana alongside several objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also brings the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
Previous Anime Collaborations
This signifies hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime franchises. The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that obviously referenced the popular series One-Punch Man.
