The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
